Project K partners with Enduring Planet to develop potassium-ion batteries for fast-charging EVs
Eliminating rare and expensive elements like lithium and cobalt
Project K is developing potassium-ion batteries for fast-charging EVs and affordable stationary storage while eliminating the need for rare and expensive elements like lithium and cobalt.
The Project K team has over 25 years' combined experience in developing and commercializing next-generation battery technologies. They're supported by grants from the US DOE's ARPA-E and the California Energy Commission's CalSEED program.
Project K's faster-charging and more affordable batteries can make EVs available to a wider market of consumers to help electrify more powertrains. Their stationary product also lowers the cost of deploying renewables like wind and solar.
Project K partnered with Enduring Planet to:
- Accelerate product development
- Reduce the need for dilutive financing
Flexible capital to build next-gen batteries
Project K partnered with Enduring Planet to work on their $2.6M ARPA-E grant. From the very start, it was clear to the Project K team that Enduring Planet not only understands the needs of founders and PIs, but they also understand the grant ecosystem.
The Project K team was drawn to the structure of the Grant Advance, with no warrants, no personal guarantees, and no collateral (beyond securing the loan against grant receivables).
I only wish I connected with Enduring Planet sooner.
