Mainstem Malt partners with Enduring Planet to scale climate-smart grain supply chains
grain to date
Mainstem Malt is reimagining the way malt is produced and sourced—building local, transparent supply chains that support regenerative agriculture and conservation across the Pacific Northwest. By shortening supply chains and sourcing Salmon-safe, dry-farmed, largely no-till grains, Mainstem is helping craft beverage producers reduce their environmental footprint while investing in rural communities.
To meet growing demand and take production to the next level, Mainstem needed flexible capital that aligned with USDA grant timelines and the unique challenges of equipment procurement. That’s where Enduring Planet came in.
Mainstem Malt partnered with Enduring Planet to:
- Bridge cash flow gaps tied to USDA grant reimbursements
- Secure non-dilutive, collateral-free capital on founder-friendly terms
- Complete a $1.2M equipment purchase critical to scaling operations
- Scale existing products, plus add a new USDA Certified Organic line of malts
Mainstem chose Enduring Planet for our understanding of USDA grants, flexible repayment structure, and highly supportive team. We moved quickly to provide the right capital at the right time—empowering them to expand without dilution or restrictive terms.
With Enduring Planet's support, Mainstem acquired new malting equipment for their Dayton, WA facility—allowing them to bring 100% of their production in house. This move will help scale their annual grain purchasing to over 4 million pounds from family farms and local Tribes, expand existing product offerings to include a new USDA Certified Organic malt lineup, and directly support climate-smart conservation practices on over 1,000 acres of farmland each year.
"I couldn't be more impressed with the team we got to work with through the whole process. The combination of skill, project management, and customer service at Enduring Planet is commendable."
