Carbon Country partners with Enduring Planet to deploy agrivoltaics and carbon removal
Carbon Country is transforming the economics of smallholder farms by combining agrivoltaics and carbon removal to generate renewable energy, sequester carbon, and regenerate soil health. Their goal is to build 5 MW of solar power and 0.5 MW of waste heat capacity while improving soil carbon and water retention and removing over 11,000 tons of CO₂e annually.
To realize this vision, Carbon Country needed capital to unlock Maryland’s reimbursement-based commercial solar grant and bridge early cash flow gaps, without dilution or personal guarantees. That’s where Enduring Planet came in.
Carbon Country partnered with Enduring Planet to:
- Launch their pilot agrivoltaics project (105 kW solar)
- Unlock Maryland’s commercial solar grant
- Bridge financing gaps while raising ~$500K in equity
With support from Enduring Planet, Carbon Country broke ground on its first agrivoltaics project. This funding unlocked state grant dollars and kept momentum toward a 5.5 MW system that will sequester carbon, strengthen farm economics, and lower power bills for low- and medium-income households through Maryland’s Community Solar program.
"Enduring Planet unlocks the possibility to really bootstrap your business through government grants."
