Aquagga partners with Enduring Planet to scale climate-friendly PFAS destruction
Aquagga is on a mission to rid the world of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), one of the toughest-to-eliminate and most-prevalent water contaminants. The company develops and deploys PFAS destruction systems powered by its hydrothermal alkaline treatment (HALT) process, which fully destroys ultra short-, short-, and long-chain PFAS in liquid matrices.
Aquagga’s technology helps clients address emerging PFAS regulations while reducing long-term environmental liability across industrial wastewater, environmental remediation, defense, and solid waste applications. By eliminating pollutants such as PFAS at the source, Aquagga helps preserve downstream water supplies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional disposal methods like off-site trucking and incineration. One Aquagga Stampede system reduces approximately 4,700 tons of CO2 emissions annually, offering a scalable alternative to conventional PFAS disposal pathways.
After securing more than 15 state and federal government grants and contracts over its six-year operating history, Aquagga advanced its technology from TRL-3 to TRL-8 and demonstrated its effectiveness at more than eight government sites. But like many government-backed climate companies, Aquagga faced cash flow challenges tied to milestone-based payment structures. That is where Enduring Planet stepped in.
Aquagga partnered with Enduring Planet to:
- Access capital with a repayment structure better aligned to contract timing than traditional principal-and-interest debt
- Expand near-term execution capacity across equipment, logistics, and engineering support
- Work with a financing partner that delivered value beyond capital through climate-sector insight and broader investor network support
Aquagga is leveraging EP's Government Advance to expand execution capacity for multiple customer projects where the team is cleaning up sites impacted by historical use of PFAS-laden firefighting foam. The added liquidity supports equipment purchases, logistics, and engineering resources needed to deliver with greater confidence and maintain momentum as deployments expand.
With Enduring Planet’s support, Aquagga is better positioned to manage the uneven cash flow of milestone-based contracts while scaling commercial execution. This partnership helps the company move faster on urgent PFAS cleanup projects, reduce emissions associated with legacy disposal methods, and bring permanent destruction technology to the sectors that need it most.
The EP team is well respected in the ecosystem, and brings a lot of value beyond lending products. We’re excited to build a long-term relationship and explore additional engagements with the team.
